Have Your Eyes Checked Regularly

Eye Examination

At the practice, Dr. Van Eerd has completed a specialized ophthalmology training for general practitioners. You can consult him for a full eye examination, including measurement of eye pressure and assessment of the lens and retina, using techniques such as slit-lamp examination.

This allows not only the detection of external eye abnormalities, but also conditions such as cataracts, high eye pressure (glaucoma), and retinal disorders. You no longer need to go to an optician or ophthalmologist just for an eye pressure measurement.
An eye examination usually takes around 20 minutes. Sometimes, your pupils need to be dilated with special eye drops. For a few hours afterward, your pupils will remain dilated.
For your safety, you will not be able to drive after the examination.
We kindly ask that you arrange for someone to give you a ride home.
