The youth care professional at your GP practice

Are you concerned about your child and visiting your GP for support? We have recently started collaborating with Ms. Berendsen. She is a youth care professional who can assist you if you have questions about parenting, concerns about your child’s development, or if there are psychological or social issues. Ms. Berendsen is affiliated with CJG Breda (Centre for Youth and Family).

You can consult the youth care professional with any questions regarding your child’s upbringing and development.
For example:
  • Your child has concentration or learning difficulties
  • Your child is developing differently from other children, and you are concerned
  • You wonder whether your child may have ADHD, autism, high sensitivity, or giftedness
  • Your child has psychological or social problems
  • You can share your questions and concerns during a conversation.
The youth care professional will take extra time to listen carefully to your story. Together, you will look at what is needed to support you further. In some cases, one or two sessions may be sufficient. If necessary, further guidance can be arranged. For example, someone from your environment. If professional or specialist help is needed, the youth care professional will assist you with this.
Privacy
Your conversations with the GP and the youth care professional are confidential. To keep each other informed about your child’s situation, they record information in a secure environment. We adhere to all privacy guidelines to prevent unauthorized access to personal data.
The collaboration with the youth care professional at the GP practice is new. After one year, we will evaluate whether this approach helps improve care based on the experiences gathered.
